Empire is probably the most well known film magazine out there in the shops. Everyone knows just by looking at the cover that it is will have news about films that are coming out or reviews on ones already out. The mast head is constantly obscured by the image on the front but that's okay as everyone already knows the magazine and can still read it but it also gives empathizes to the main film that features in this issue as it is the current biggest release hence it has the biggest presence on the cover with several other side stories around it. Alternatively, the collector's edition available to subscribers obmits these other stories so only the main image is seen. There is also a tagline of 'the world's biggest movie magazine' that is sometimes altered as a joke or reference to a film such as the one for the Hobbit where it says 'the shire's biggest movie magazine.' The bar code is at the bottom and the essential information is near the mast head and these are in the same location on every issue so you know where to look in order to see which issue it is.
