Movie Poster title font ideas
I have been experimenting and trying to find a title font to use for my movie poster after receiving the feedback from my movie poster, the font was what a lot of it suggested that I improved so here I am. These are my favourite fonts but I will test them on the actual poster in photoshop to determine which I like the best.
Update: I have decided to use the second font which is called 'Vintage_Cre' and I downloaded it from here: http://www.fonts2u.com/vintage-cre.font
Feedback for movie poster
I have received feedback for my movie poster, I knew that there were things that I either wanted to add or change so receiving feedback also helped me decide on what I will focus on. It has been pointed out that I should change the font of my film title. I completely agree with this as when I was creating this I just selected a font so that it would be ready to hand in for feedback. Now that so many people have pointed it out I want to look for a font that I think will work for my poster and that I really like and will collect some examples. Also another thing that was pointed by someone was that that I should blend the image so that it doesn't look like it was cut out. This is the first time that I have ever used photoshop so for a first attempt I think that i can be forgiven for it but I will now try to blend the image to make it less noticeable however I will not touch the bottom of it. This is because initially I wanted to try to obscure it with some smoke or something but once I had added the text I liked the look of it so I will keep it like that. Also 'coming soon' was spelt wrong which nearly everyone but me has noticed.

Editing an image in Photoshop
This is a tutorial detailing how I manipulated an image in photoshop to make it black and white for my Movie poster.
1. First I opened the image that I wanted to edit in Photoshop.
2. Then I click this symbol at the bottom of the layers panel which will add a new adjustment layer over the image, I clicked black and white but there are others.
3. This new adjustment layer is over the original image so the colour is still there and you can get it back if you want to.
4. You can adjust the colours on this new layer to manipulate the photo to your liking.
5. Once you are finished you can flatten the image and you have a black and white image.

Steel Tongs Movie Poster Font
There is a font that I have found called SteelTongs which is brilliant for easily creating the small text of movie posters and I have successfully installed and works on photoshop. I have done a little test of the font in photoshop and I am definitely going to use this in my movie poster, it is a real time saver and looks professional.
Movie Poster Font
I was searching for movie poster fonts on google and came across this font called "SF Movie Poster" on a website called Dafont. This font will be very useful when creating my own movie poster and is free to download and use so it should be okay to use. The font on the actual film poster is vital to making sure that your poster looks realistic. I really like this font and hopefully it will make the text at the bottom of my poster easier to do.
Inspirational Texts - Sin City Movie Poster Deconstruction
Bruce Willis is dead centre of the cast and the poster signifying that he is either the main protagonist or the most well known actor in the film and his presence is used to draw in potential audience members who may be fans of his films. He is also higher than the other characters/actors again signifying his importance whilst the other characters are kind of ranked in importance either to the film or the story. The colours on the poster are mainly darker colours with lots of use of black and white, reflecting the films genre as noir. This reflects the tone of the film that it will be darker than a normal film, this is also a teaser of the cinematic style of the film which is in black and white but in some parts has a splash of colour. Similarly, on the poster the only splash of colour is the films title in red, "Sin City." The films title is bold and memorable, immediately drawing your attention to it as the most important piece of importation on the poster. There is the usual film poster font at the bottom but the other information is in a comic book style font, almost just drawn on to the poster. Interestingly, the directors names appear big on the poster but the actors names themselves are absent, only appearing in the typical place on the bottom. The fact that they aren't openly advertising Bruce Willis' involvement in the film by splashing his name all over the front of it but instead focusing on the cinematic style and directing of the film would convince the audience that this isn't a big hollywood blockbuster and is instead focusing on the story instead of making money by advertising who is in it.
Poster appears edgy using slants with the characters appearing at an angle but with the other information opposing it in the opposite way. The poster appears to be raining and Willis is looking down at the secondary image which is overlapping with the main image of the cast suggesting that it could be a puddle or a reflection. The cast are also positioned as if the man in the second image is the main antagonist of the film or who they are fighting against. This film poster is brilliant as it attracts your attention due to it being unusual and makes the audience ask questions, sparking their interest in possibly seeing the film.
I really like the style of this poster and am considering doing something similar to this in my own movie poster. I'm thinking black and white image of the main character (perhaps back to back) with the 'reflection' there as well but with a splash of colour somehow to symbolise the difference in nature between the main character and their tormenter. Perhaps I could change the eye colour with red and blue or something. I will have more of an idea once I do a flat plan for my poster with and look at other different ideas. I definitely want to use darker colours to reflect the tone of my film as I want it to be quiet dark, I also want to keep it simple but effective. I may create multiple designs for a poster incorporating different ideas.
Inspirational Texts - Amazing Spider-man Teaser Poster Deconstruction
This is a teaser poster for a film. A teaser poster is used to advertise a film and are usually the first things that are realise long before the actual film in order to generate interest in the intended target audience. There is a lack of any specific information but the shadow forms the spider-man logo so fans will recognise this and search for more information usually on a web address provided on the poster but on this poster is a hashtag to use on twitter. This is very good marketing as the intended target audience would be younger people and making use of social networking sites can help spread the word about your film. The release date is in red which stands out against the darker colours used in the poster. The dark colours could mean that this film will be darker in tone and in terms of narrative which could link into the tagline of 'the untold story.' As this is a teaser poster, the poster itself lacks any of the usual detail that you might expect from a movie poster such as actors names and what not.
