The film trailer for the film Django Unchained is a perfect example of a trailer done well.
Directed by Quentin Tarantino, the trailer displays the strange mix of violence and humor that blend together so well and what many would expect from one of his films. The trailer does its job of enticing people by revealing the basic plot and introducing the main characters. The green film ratings screen is a common sight when watching a trailer which I would incorporate into my own. The trailer starts slow with the music reflecting a grim mood but as soon a Django is 'unchained' the music instantly changes to a more upbeat tempo.
The footage is separated with title cards which impact on the audience as they inform them of information about the film such as who it is made by and also when it is going to be released.

Flashbacks of the 'Brittle Brothers' are dark with not a lot of light, this is due to it being night and because of the time period there would be very little artificial light which would improve the authenticity of the film. The dark scenes also hint at the dark and troubled past of Django.
In terms of camera angles, close up shots of faces of characters as they are introduced in the trailer or conversing with each other reveal their personalities. Long shots are used to introduce a location or to reveal the impact of something such as an explosion. Things that happen in the trailer match up with the music for instance the music places empathizes as title cards appear on screen . This either means that the trailer was created around the music or the music was created specifically for the trailer to match up with the footage. If I find a particular piece of music that I would want to use for my trailer then this would be possible for me to replicate as I fit scenes to go with the music.
